Indies First Day/ Small Business Saturday is November 26 and other events at The Town Book Store

Indies First is a national campaign of activities and events in support of independent bookstores. The Town Book Store has been in business in Westfield since 1934 and is only one of two remaining independent bookstores left in all of Union County. On this day, we will celebrate by having guest booksellers local children’s author Laura Sassi (Good Night Ark and Good Night Manger) coming from 10am-12pm and local thriller author Eva Lesko Natiello (The Memory Box) from 12-2pm. They will be signing copies of their books and recommending some of their favorites. While supplies last, free Indies First tote bag with every $50 purchase.

Westfield Memorial Library present The Beatles Next: The Solo Years

(October 24, 2016) – On Saturday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m., the Westfield Memorial Library will present “The Beatles Next: The Solo Years” by rock historian Vince Bruno. The library is located at 550 East Broad Street.

Mr. Bruno will focus on continuing the highlights of the “solo” post-Beatles careers of John, Paul, George and Ringo. He will explore the aftermath of The Beatles legacy and how they established themselves as solo artists and collaborated with each other on many of their solo projects. The talk will be enhanced by visual backgrounds and short audio clips.

Westfield Memorial Library Gets New App for Smart Phones

(October 14, 2016) – The Westfield Memorial Library has joined the growing number of libraries offering mobile apps for smart phones. Available from the Apple app store and Google Play, the app works with both Android and Apple devices.

Depending on which type of device patrons have, they can visit the appropriate app store, search Westfield Library and then download the app, which is free from either source.
