It was a busy season in Downtown Westfield!
The 21st Annual Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival was a huge hit yet again, offering free live music every Tuesday night in July & August at five venues throughout the downtown. Read more. The DWC wishes to thank the attendees, Town of Westfield, DPW crew, PNC Plaza & First Baptist Church for the use of the venue spaces, and Trader Joe's for the water donations.
The 16th annual Downtown Westfield 5K & Pizza Extravaganza took place July 26. The 5K attracted 2,200 runners and 6,000 spectators for an evening of running, pizza, prizes, DJ and live music. Many thanks to our sponsors. Check out our great photos.

AR Workshop, a graphic design, party styling, DIY shop, is open at 226 North Ave W. Midtown Authentic is a designer resale store now open at 129 E. Broad St. Madeline Moss home furnishing has returned to Westfield in a larger space at 264 E. Broad St.
There were many business expansions and changes. Adlers Jewelers has expanded to 217 North Ave., doubling its square footage. Raritan Valley Gyrotonic expanded and relocated to 100 Elmer St.; JackRabbit Westfield is the new name of The Running Company at 123 Quimby St. Maria Candida Hair Forum is now Leo Charles Salon at 105 Prospect St. Roosterspin has built a second location in New Brunswick. We improved parking issues. The Westfield Town Council approved an increase in the number of hours of free parking downtown by reducing the time you have to pay to 10am-6pm (from 9am-7pm). They also created two free 'express spaces' on Quimby St. near North Ave. for people parking for 15 minutes or less to pick up takeout orders from Downtown restaurants or run quick errands. Our dedicated Westfield DPW crew implemented Westfield's first seasonal parklet on Elm Street in front of Theresa's and Sweet Waters restaurants to add public seating. The Downtown Westfield Corporation (DWC) is the management entity of the Special Improvement District. For more information call 908-789-9444 or visit www.westfieldtoday.com
