NJWA Music Studio Prepares for Spring Session

NJWA Music Studio Prepares for Spring Session

The arrival of the spring season can bring so many wonderful opportunities. Among these could be taking music lessons at the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts Music Studio in Westfield.

The spring session, which runs from April to June, is available for students of all age levels, from pre-school to adult. Lessons are given in a 30, 45 or 60 minute format and students can register at any time during the semester. Classes are taught by highly skilled music educators and professional artists with degrees from prestigious universities and music programs.

Instruction is given on strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, guitar and piano and in vocal lessons. There are also many opportunities to play in a variety of  Music Studio bands, orchestras and ensembles. Among these are various Saturday Orchestras, Wednesday Morning Strings, the Rock Performance Workshop, the Alphorn Society Ensemble, the Summer Symphony and the Jazz Band. The NJWA is also home to the Majestic Winds. Some of these groups will play at the Westfield Spring Fling.

The Music Studio also offers the Music Connection for special needs students and the Alexander Technique, a mind-body learning method for improving performance skills. A recent addition has been Music FunTime, an innovative program  for pre-school children. The Westfield Fencing Club, for both children and adults, is also a program of the NJWA.

In addition to the Summer Symphony, and all the other programs, the summer will offer another opportunity with the NJWA Summer Arts Workshop. Intended for those in pre-school to grade 12, the program will include music, visual arts, dance and drama.

So enjoy your spring, and every other season, at the NJWA, a 501 © 3 non-profit organization located at 150-152 East Broad Street in Westfield. For additional  information phone 908-789-9696, email njwa2@aol.com or log on to www.njworkshopforthearts.com
