Theresa’s Italian Restaurant Renovates and Re-opens Friday, July 20 at 5pm in Downtown Westfield

Theresa’s Italian Restaurant Renovates and Re-opens Friday, July 20 at 5pm in Downtown Westfield

Theresa’s Italian Restaurant, known for its creative Italian cooking at 47 Elm Street in Downtown Westfield, has been closed over two weeks for some fresh renovations underway. The newly renovated interior features updates in décor with soothing gray and yellow tones and new lighting along with a redesigned space. The prior ceiling has been removed and updated technological acoustical tiles have been installed as well as new heating and air conditioning units. These changes will allow for an enhanced dining experience with a more casual energetic vibe. The restaurant also has added a flexible private dining area that can accommodate groups of 10 to 70 people.

Owner and Executive Chef Robert Scalera is particularly excited about the new custom-built bar and server station. The restaurant’s dining room was designed to honor the beloved Theresa’s traditional cuisine and more refinements to the design will take place in the coming months. "Our loyal customers are very important to us”, says Robert Scalera. "All of the changes focus on continuing to give those customers a quality experience, while introducing ourselves to a new generation of customers. It's an evolution for the future of our business. The Westfield community has been very good to Theresa’s, and we know it will embrace our changes."

Theresa's is introducing a new menu with smaller plates and items for sharing. Meanwhile, the restaurant is keeping its traditional menu items, including its favored homemade pasta, salads, pappardelle, eggplant pancake and charred octapus appetizers, short ribs, and penne vodka.  Patrons particular appreciate the big portions along with the ability to bring their own wine.

The remodeling was managed by owners Robert & Diane Scalera, while local tradesman Nick Marino of Grand Slam Painting, Kevin Kennedy, and John DiNicola Construction were contractors on the project.

Theresa’s was founded 25 years ago by Robert Scalera offering freshly made pasta with unsurpassed sautéed pasta dishes.  All of their homemade desserts are made with exceptional attention to detail including their flourless chocolate cake and legendary banana bread pudding.  The staff, along with Head Chef Alberto Garcia, is attentive and informed as they guide diners through their menu offerings. Theresa’s offers a full catering menu and their dedicated staff and dining room is available for private parties. They are open 11:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday for lunch and 5:00 pm for dinner each evening.
