In celebration of National Preservation Month in May, the HPC invited residents to vote for their favorite home designs. Each week we narrowed the choice of architectural styles as selections were made.
The Town of Westfield has recognized that there is a public interest in preserving the town’s historic resources. The Westfield Historic Preservation Commission was established to assist in its review of proposed work on designated historic properties, and to guide property owners in planning and designing their construction projects. Learn more about the Design Guidelines for Historic Sites and Districts (PDF) to help protect the community’s historic buildings and places, to expedite and ensure consistency.
And the 2023 May Madness winner is....Team Tudor!
It is perhaps no surprise that this 1920s revival style emerged victorious as Westfield's favorite. Distinctive, versatile, and enduringly popular, it can be seen everywhere from apartment buildings to manors and looks just as good in downtown Westfield as it did in Elizabethan England! Thanks to everyone who voted in our May Madness Bracket Challenge!
