2022 NEW CHANGES TO PET LICENSING
Current licenses expire on December 31, 2021. This year there are three options to obtain an Animal License:
- In person
- Through the mail.
- If you are applying by mail, payment must be made by check or money order payable to “Town of Westfield.” Cash payments are only accepted in person. Please mail your application to the Town Clerk’s Office, 425 East Broad Street, Westfield NJ 07090
- Apply/Pay Online
- Payment through the SDL payment portal. SDL or Spatial Data Logic is a secure portal for processing municipal transactions. You will need to create an account on SDL to process the form When submitting the form, please be sure to upload proof of rabies vaccination valid through October 31, 2022.
Applying for Licenses
Dog and cat licenses are renewable annually. Renewal applications are mailed in December and are due in January. New pets six months of age or older must be licensed at this time or when this age is reached during the year.
If rabies vaccination information or spay/neutering status has changed during the year, please include the veterinarian certification so that pet records may be updated. All required documentation and the appropriate fee must be submitted with the renewal form or everything will be returned to you. Rabies vaccination must have an expiration date valid through October 31st of the licensing year in order to purchase an animal license.
On February 1st, an $8 late fee will be charged for dog/cat license renewals. There are no late fees charged for newly acquired dog and cat licenses received on or after February 1st.
