Swim Lesson Registration

The Westfield Memorial Pool will be conducting swim lessons again this year with our Water Safety Instructors and are happy to offer levels: Fearful Beginner, Little Dippers, Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Swimmer. Sessions are two weeks long, Tuesday-Friday for a total of 8 classes per session. We have increased the number of Saturday class offerings but there will still be limited availability, be sure to register right away! Registration for Swim Lessons and Dive Clinics will begin on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
Please note: Swim Lessons and Dive Clinics are for current registered pool members only.

Session 1: June 27-July 7 (No class on 7/4. Rate is pro-rated)
Session 2: July 11-July 21
Session 3: July 25-August 4
Saturdays: June 17-August 5

2022 Swim Lessons

Dive Clinic

Dive clinics run Tuesday-Friday for a total of 4 classes. There are three levels of the dive clinic, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. There is a minimum of 3 swimmers per class and a maximum of 6.

Dates of Dive Clinic Sessions:

Tuesday-Friday
Session 1: Beginner, June 27 - June 30 
Session 2: Intermediate, July 5 - July 7 
Session 3: Advanced, July 11 - July 14
Session 4: Beginner, July 18 - July 21 
Session 5: Intermediate, July 25 - July 28 
Session 6: Advanced, August 1 - August 4
Session 7: Beginner, Intermediate, & Advance, August 8 - August 11

Beginner Diving (Suggested ages: 5-8)
Required Skills: Participants MUST be comfortable in deep water and be able to tread water at least 15-30 seconds. This beginner course introduces students to diving from the side and basic springboard diving techniques.
Introduced Skills: 
Diving Safety, head first entry from side of pool, proper diving technique from dive blocks, proper hand, arm, and body placement for entry.

Intermediate Diving (Suggested ages: 8-10)
Required Skills: Participants MUST be comfortable in deep water and be able to tread water at least 15-30 seconds. Participants should have the ability to perform front dive from the side of the pool successfully.
Introduced Skills: Diving Safety, build on and refine front dive technique, master diving off a dive block, dive off dive block and continue into a stroke properly, introduction of diving off diving boards if Instructors feel class is ready.

Advanced Diving (Suggested ages: 9 and up)

Required Skills: Participants MUST be comfortable in deep water and be able to tread water at least 30 seconds. Participants should be comfortable diving off the side of the pool and on a dive block. Participant should be comfortable swimming in the dive tank (13 feet) and have confidence to jump off the diving boards.
Introduced Skills:  Diving Safety, review and refinement of front dive, master diving off both diving boards, learn approach and hurdle steps to begin dive on diving boards, learn technique of front pike dive if Instructors feel class is ready.
