A Message from Theresa's

A Message from Theresa's

To all my family, friends and loyal customers:

After an amazing 25 years of serving  the Westfield community, I am closing the doors of Theresa's Restaurant. While I am ending this professional chapter, I will be moving on to another business opportunity.

This decision was not an easy one and along with it, comes much sadness and a heavy heart.  I have truly enjoyed serving you all with delicious and memorable meals at Theresa's, Isabella's, and Mojave Grill over the years. I have met so many interesting and kind people who became regular patrons and participated along with me at school, charitable fundraisers, and community events. I am eternally grateful and will miss each and every one of you.

Downtown Westfield has been a wonderful place to conduct business but unfortunately, difficult economic times and regulatory restrictions make it impossible to keep the doors open.

I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life and hopefully, our paths will cross again soon.

Sincerely,
Robert Scalera

Downtown Living

Downtown Living

As anyone driving by can tell, progress is steady at the construction site of The Parker, a new three story, 31-unit apartment complex at the corner of West Broad Street and Rahway Avenue. The new building replaced the Westfield Auto Wash and the adjacent two buildings facing Rahway Avenue. Designed by Potter Architects, LLC, The Parker is the latest transit-oriented development and includes 18 one-bedroom units, 12 two-bedroom units and one three-bedroom unit, all with ground floor parking. Five of the rentals will be designated as affordable housing units.

Construction is also underway at Circle Plaza at the former Pan American Cleaners, which will feature 30 residential units with 5 affordable housing units and 7,000 square feet of commercial space.

These buildings in Downtown Westfield promise to bring new rental options and foot traffic to our downtown commercial district. The Parker and Circle Plaza are conveniently located within easy walking distance to the train and bus stations, and offers great appeal for a wide variety of renters -- including young professionals, empty nesters, and single parents who want to remain in the area.
