September, 2016, Westfield, NJ -- The Gift Coin is about to make a comeback! The GWACC (Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce) plans to unveil its newly designed gift coins at the FestiFall street fair on Sunday, September 25, but here’s a sneak peak of the shiny new coins that shoppers will soon be spending in support this buy local program.
The GWACC has minted 500 gift coins as part of revitalization and expansion of its gift coin program to include businesses in Westfield as well as the four additional town of Fanwood, Garwood, Mountainside, and Scotch Plains.
“The expanded gift coin program is part of our commitment to encourage the community to keep shopping dollars local,” said Gene Jannotti, GWACC Executive Director. “The coins will make a great gift for anyone and are a unique and more personal alternative to giving a gift card.”
The GWACC is inviting all businesses in the five towns it represents--including nonmembers of the chamber--to sign up.
“By participating in the gift coin program, businesses will give shoppers in the Greater Westfield Area a new reason to visit and spend money with them. And there is absolutely no cost to businesses,” said Jannotti.
Shoppers will be able to identify which retailers and restaurants are participating by looking for store window displays and by checking the GWACC Mobile app (available on the App Store or Google Play) or on the GWACC website (gwaccnj.com).
The new gift coins have a $25 value and can be purchased for a fee of $2.50 per transaction with no limit on the number of coins that can be purchased at any one time. The coins will be available at the Two River Community Bank branches in Westfield, Fanwood, and Cranford and at the GWACC offices at 173 Elm Street, 3rd floor, Westfield. Businesses can redeem the coins at those same locations and at no cost.
Business owners who want to enroll can call the GWACC office at 908-233-3021 or email email@example.com.
