Michelle Pierce and Nicole Dossin to Chair 2018 Tour of Notable Homes

The Friends of New Jersey Festival Orchestra, the auxiliary and fund raising arm of the orchestra, has announced the selection of Westfield residents Michelle Pierce and Nicole Dossin as co-chairs of the 34th annual Tour of Notable Homes to be held on Saturday, May 12th from 10am to 3pm.

“The tour is a much-anticipated local tradition when owners of some of the area's finest homes generously throw open their doors to the public,” according to Ms. Pierce.  “There is a wide diversity of outstanding architecture and stylish décor in our community which must be seen to be fully appreciated.”

2018 Home Tour co-chair Michelle Pierce is a life-long resident of Westfield. She began her career at Hoffmann-LaRoche/Genentech in 1996 as a Sales Representative, winning multiple awards along the years and continues working for them today in Oncology.

Michelle is blessed with two amazing children in whose lives she is greatly active.  She is a frequent volunteer at Washington School, a board member and Director of Player Development for the Girls Softball League of Westfield, a member of the College Woman's Club of Westfield and the Presbyterian Church of Westfield.

A resident of Westfield since 1996, Nicole Dossin has been in the pharmaceutical industry for over 25 years. Having spent most of her career at Merck, she is now head of Strategy and Execution for Early Clinical Development & Experimental Sciences at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  Nicole lives with her husband and two boys and enjoys running, reading, modern art, and interior design.

“We are thrilled that Ms. Pierce and Ms. Dossin have agreed to chair this important event,” remarked Friends’ President Kim Schoenknecht. “They both possess the outstanding vision, organizational skills and local knowledge to ensure the success of this year’s exciting tour.”

Ms. Dossin enthusiastically notes that this year’s tour, taking place on Mother’s Day weekend, will hold “something for everyone.”  The residences will feature musical interludes, the always-popular basket raffle, door prizes, refreshments, and local vendor tastings.

“The Home Tour is a key element of the funding mix that’s necessary to operate the orchestra,” according to David Wroe, Music Director of the New Jersey Festival Orchestra.  “The ‘Friends’ have been true to their name in this respect since the group’s very inception.  Supplemental fund raising is critical because only about a third of our revenue comes from the sale of tickets. Income from the Home Tour will also support our critical educational outreach and music therapy programs.”

Ms. Pierce points out that the Westfield is one of only a few smaller communities nationwide that serves as the home of a professional symphony orchestra.  She observes, “NJFO is truly a treasure that places a "Carnegie Hall" quality orchestra right on our doorsteps. My children particularly love the Holiday Concert, and look forward to it every year!"

Tickets for the 2018 Tour of Notable Homes are $40 in advance ($45 on May12, day of tour) and are available on line at Tickets will also available at Baron’s Drugs and Town Book Store in Westfield and Christoffers Flowers and Gifts in Mountainside.
