5 Simple Ways to Support Local Businesses

  • Order locally twice a week, or more, for meals, groceries, personal products, toys, crafts, clothes and shoes—for curbside pickup or delivery.
  • Contribute to the #WeLoveLocal fund that helps independent Westfield businesses.
  • Round up your order: Add to an order for tomorrow’s meal, pay for essential workers’ meals or buy food for an elderly neighbor.
  • Maintain your class subscriptions and buy gift cards for future use.

You know what they say about a little kindness... Tip a little more. Share words of encouragement. Be patient with a smaller staff. Leave a nice review. It can make a big difference.

From the Westfield United Fund Website:

The Westfield United Fund is proud to partner with the Town of Westfield to help our local businesses and their employees who have been devastated by the Coronavirus Crisis. If you would like to help, please click on the DONATE NOW button below. The Westfield United Fund has already matched the first $15,000 we received. NOW THE WESTFIELD FOUNDATION IS STEPPING UP TO MATCH ANOTHER $30,000! DONATE TODAY!

The We Love Local fund is dedicated to supporting independently-owned Westfield businesses during the challenging and unprecedented times resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak. If you are a business owner who operates an independent business from a physical retail address in Westfield, NJ who has been negatively impacted by the restrictions placed on commerce starting in March 2020, please CLICK ON THE SUBMIT APPLICATION BUTTON BELOW and fill out the application. Applications will be reviewed by a committee led by representatives of the Town Council, the Westfield United Fund and the Westfield Foundation, and will be evaluated promptly so that relief funds can start flowing as quickly as possible.  Please keep in mind that there are many independently-owned businesses in Westfield, and we will do our best to support as many as possible.  As we continue to raise money, we may be able to provide additional funds.

UPDATE: Thank you to the more than 500 people who have already donated! Thanks to your generosity we have already raised more than $70,000 to help the most severely affected people in our community. This is why WE LOVE LOCAL!

Thank you to Johnny Rzeznik, lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls and resident of Westfield, for launching this effort with his porch concert last Friday, and again today on Kelly & Ryan! Go to our Facebook page and check it out!
